Langevin Equations for Anomalous Diffusion in External Potentials - Biasing and Decoupled Forces

چکیده

The role of external forces in systems exhibiting anomalous diffusion is discussed on the basis of the describing Langevin equations. Since there exist different possibilities to include the effect of an external field the concept of biasing and decoupled external fields is introduced. Complementary to the recently established Langevin equations for anomalous diffusion in a time-dependent external force-field [Magdziarz et al., Phys. the Langevin formulation of anomalous diffusion in a decoupled time-dependent force-field is derived.

Extraction of Nonlinear Thermo-Electroelastic Equations for High Frequency Vibrations of Piezoelectric Resonators with Initial Static Biases

In this paper, the general case of an anisotropic thermo-electro elastic body subjected to static biasing fields is considered. The biasing fields may be introduced by heat flux, body forces, external surface tractions, and electric fields. By introducing proper thermodynamic functions and employing variational principle for a thermo-electro elastic body, the nonlinear constitutive relations an...

The rich phenomenology of brownian particles in nonlinear potential landscapes

Non-interacting brownian particles follows Langevin equations fullfiling fluctuation–dissipation relation between friction and thermal noise. Under a linear potential (constant force) Einstein found a relation between diffusion and transport through mobility. In nonlinear potentials this prediction is only satisfied within the limit of very large constant external forces. Moreover, other more i...

Langevin description of superdiffusive Lévy processes.

The description of diffusion processes is possible in different frameworks such as random walks or Fokker-Planck or Langevin equations. Whereas for classical diffusion the equivalence of these methods is well established, in the case of anomalous diffusion it often remains an open problem. In this paper we aim to bring three approaches describing anomalous superdiffusive behavior to a common fo...

Unbiased estimation of Langevin dynamics: Application to hippocampal field potentials in vitro

The last decade showed an increased interest in Langevin equations for modeling time series recorded from complex dynamical systems. These equations allow to discriminate between deterministic (drift) and stochastic (diffusion) components of the recorded time series. In practice, the estimation of drift and diffusion is often based on approximations of the models’ dynamics that are only valid f...

Nonlocal Piezomagnetoelasticity Theory for Buckling Analysis of Piezoelectric/Magnetostrictive Nanobeams Including Surface Effects

This paper presents the surface piezomagnetoelasticity theory for size-dependent buckling analysis of an embedded piezoelectric/magnetostrictive nanobeam (PMNB). It is assumed that the subjected forces from the surrounding medium contain both normal and shear components. Therefore, the surrounded elastic foundation is modeled by Pasternak foundation. The nonlocal piezomagnetoelasticity theory i...
